Novena de Aguinaldos

This Novena to the “Niño Jesús” is an ancient Colombian tradition that was created around 1700 and is known as the “Novena de Aguinaldos”. We pray it from December 16 for nine consecutive days. The Novena is more than a simple prayer; Its a family affair. It is a wonderful way to get together with family and friends and enjoy the true meaning of “Christmas”. It is a perfect example of how Christmas is celebrated in Colombia and it is a tradition that has been passed down from generation to generation.
